HME introduce CHP/ CCHP biomass technology “in the green capital”
Haydon Mechanical & Electrical (HME) introduced CHP technology “in the green capital at three locations in London, two of which are located in Canary Wharf, that will enable the iconic “Pan Peninsula” 1 Mill Harbour (Ballymore Group), and the “Landmark” at 22 Marsh Wall (Chalegrove Properties Ltd), to generate its own heat and electricity on site, helping to reduce energy bills and shrink its carbon footprint.
“Pan Peninsula” (Ballymore Group) is the UK's tallest residential building. At 149 metres, 51 floors, the larger tower will not only be the tallest residential development in the country, but also Britain's 12th highest building! It will make a high profile contribution to London Mayor’s green capital, thanks to a state-of-the-art community heating scheme that includes a combined heat and power (CHP) system.
By radically reducing its carbon footprint, these new developments will make a substantial and visible contribution to the “Green London” programme, while representing a beacon of sustainability for the whole country.
CHP / CCHP Biomass technology represents a small fraction of the overall building costs, yet adds tremendous value by creating significant energy savings and considerable environmental benefits for all and most importantly the new residents,'
